A Letter from our President

Welcome to our website! I am so glad you’re here. My name is Riya Vallabh, and I have the honor of being the President of the Kappa Chapter of Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority Inc. at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for the 2023-2024 academic year. I crossed with the sEmatic Sigma Class in the Fall of 2021. Our amazing sisters have created this page to showcase our sisterhood and the pillars that we stand for.

 

At Sigma Sigma Rho, we strive to empower women, promote diversity, and foster leadership. We believe in the strength of unity, the power of education, and the importance of service. Our sorority has always been a beacon of hope, a platform for personal growth, and a community that celebrates each other's successes.

As Sisters of Sigma Sigma Rho, we aim to uphold our pillars of Sisterhood, Society, and Remembrance. Since the day our sisters have stepped foot on this campus, we have made sure to leave our mark wherever we go. From fostering women into intelligent, diverse, and independent role models, to giving back to our very own community, I am proud to say that we do it ALL within this sorority.

 

Our chapter has won awards and gained recognition on both the regional and national levels. Our sisters pride themselves in excelling in their academics, leadership, community service, social events, and close-knit sisterhood. Each sister exemplifies what it means to be a Distinguished woman because of the massive supportive network of women who empower each other to become the best versions of ourselves. With beauty and brains, our chapter is unmatched. I am so proud to be surrounded by these women, who will go one to make a positive impact on the world, with the skills learned within our organization.

I am so proud of our chapter and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to lead such an amazing, beautiful, resilient group of women. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
